  May 2001

5 - 6 Hernando,
MS
North Mississippi Airgun Club, we plan to host the 2001 Southern Spring Nationals, May 5th and 6th at our new venue. Wade Sutherland has secured property just South of Hernando on a 225 acre farm owned by Dr. Mike Foster. This place is BEAUTIFUL to say the least with very similar terrain to the old venue. Dr. Foster has 3 boys who are into paintball and has built a very large paintball facility on his property where literally 100's come to play every weekend. He has designated about 40 acres for our use and has given us the go ahead to hold at least 2 MAJOR matches here this year. We will begin club activities in about a month and will have the place ready for a full blown Southern Spring Shoot to fill the void left by one of the greatest venues on the planet - Baton Rouge!
6 OHIO Ohio Open - 60 shot Field Target match.
13 Hertford
Hertfordshire
Hertford Open Field Target Championship - 50 shot Field Target match. We shoot at the Lea Valley Shooting Association Grounds in Hertford and all our ranges have 18 foot high banks around them, this not only allows us to shoot at level targets up to 75 yards but allows for both up hill and down dale shooting as well.  Most of the air gunner's who have visited our shoots comment on how well laid out they are and the varied target positions.   August 2001

24 - 26 Newbury,
ENGLAND
2001 World Field Target Championship Field Target Match- Field target match held this year in England. Check for match entry form at AAFTA web site.

  September 2001

9 OHIO Ohio State Field Target Championships - 70 shot match open to all in-state and out-of-state shooters.
No Price type straps or NRA type shooting jackets will be allowed on the Field Target course during the match, you will be allowed to use them on the practice sight-in range only, these matches will be a heads up competition and under current AAFTA rules the Match director has the last say as to what will be allowed at his match and we feel that the two items mentioned above give those shooters who chose to use them an unfair advantage over the none user, so our matches are sanctioned under the current AAFTA Clubs and Shooters Handbook. I just hope other clubs will follow suit here, last year we had 15 shooters from 4 states for our 1st shoot and 16 shooters from 5 states for our 2000 state match, not bad I think for a new club starting out.
