Preparing for Georgia Spring Gun Championship
by David Still
On this overcast and threatening morning,
Saturday's match course was set up by Walt Roller and Ken Hughes. An easier match course
was designed in preparation for next months Georgia Spring Gun Championships. By
match time, the weather improved and the match was spent shooting in the company of good
friends.
Walt Roller shot very well considering he complained about not being able to "hold
the crosshairs in the kill zone". Walt was match champion only missing one target (43
of 44). Tommy Garland and Ken Hughes tied for Open Class-First Place. With no shoot-off
for First Place, George Gardner took Open Class-Second Place and Doug Vinson secured Open
Class-Third Class. Match scores prove that Doug has grown accustom to his new Pro-Target.
Joel Hansel captured First Place in the Piston Class with as score of 31 of 44 targets.
Jeff Drake took Piston Class-Second Place with his R-1, 22 caliber airgun.
Next months match is the Georgia Spring Gun Championships, so dont bring
your "bottle fed" guns. Hope to see everyone in July.

Airgunning Atlanta received a call from Bill
Isaac indicating that AA's Newsletter reprinted in AAFTA News, left out important
information from the 1999 Georgia Southern Regionals. The Newsletter did not mention Bill
Isaac as winner of the Open Class-Second Place award.
Airgunning Atlanta's May (Special Edition) Newsletter highlighted the results of three
shoot-off matches determining Overall Match Winner and Open Class-First Place, Open
Class-Third and Open Class-Forth Places, and Open Class-Fifth Place and non trophy sixty
place.
Since Bill Isaac single handedly took Open
Class-Second Place and was not in a shoot-off, his name and results were accidentally left
out of the AA Newsletter narrative. Fortunately, his accomplishment was reflected in the
match result score chart. Bill, we regret this oversight.
