Perfect Autumn Shooting Weather

by David Still

Absolutely perfect shooting weather was experienced by the thirteen competitors during Saturdays monthly AA match.  Eleven shooters began the match with David Still remaining behind to assist a new shooter, Robert Simmons, with his newly purchased TX-200 which required new range numbers.

The 60 shot course, according to Walt Roller, was set up to provide an extremely difficult match.  Even under these conditions, Kevin Allen edged ahead of the pack by only one point, winning with a score of 50 of 60. In the unrecognized International Class (12 ft.lbs), Kevin also took top honors.

Surprising everyone, Pete Matos captured First Place in the PreCharged Class with a 49 of 60, with a three shot margin over Second Place. Walt Roller and Doug Vincon tied for Second Place scoring 46 of 60 with yet another tie between Ken Hughes and Robert Crocker for Third Place with scores of 44 of 60.

In the Spring Piston Class, Joel Hansel captured First Place with a score of 26 of 60.
