New Shooter Captures First Place

by David Still

Saturday was a beautiful day for field target match. Robert Simmons and Walt Pitts were new guests to our monthly match.  Robert was trying out his newly purchased break barrel and also trying an R-10 loaned to him by Walt Roller. He also tried David Still's HW-77 and was punching the same pellet hole at 25 yards. Robert later used the HW-77 during the field target match.

Walt Pitts, David Still's bother-in-law, tried field target shooting for the first time. He shot quite well in spite of David bumping his Pro-Target against his first metal lane marker. It took a few shots to get the gun back on track. When Walt was given the opportunity to try Kevin Allen's Daystate CRX, Walt hit the 35 yard bat in his first attempt. Obviously, using David's Pro-Target was keeping his scores down.

Robert Crocker and Doug Vinson tied to win the monthly match with scores of 45 of 52. Ken Hughes captured Pre-Charged First Place with Brad Troyer taking Second Place. Kevin Allen was a close Third Place. Thanks for joining us Brad.

Bill Green, a new shooter to field target competition, easily took First Place in the Spring Piston Class with a score of 17 of 52.

Airgunning Atlanta hopes that Robert Simmons returns to shot the match again.
