AA Field Target Match

Match Results, February 10, 2001

Pre-Spring Turn Out

by David Still

It was a clear, slightly windy, cool day for the four competitors that came to Airgunning Atlanta’s Saturday match. AA welcomes our new visitor, O. J. Adams, using David Still’s Air-Arms TX-200.

Doug Vinson has fine-tuned his Pro-Target adding a sliding barrel weight and lead material in his stock to counter balance his new NightForce 8-40x scope and Joe Korick barrel shroud. Doug won the AA match with a score of 51 of 60 (85%). Ken Hughes took First Place in the Precharged Class scoring 48 of 60 (83.3%).

O.J. Adams and David Still did not finish the course within the allotted time. Even without completing the course, David captured First Place in the Spring Piston Class with a score of 23 of 42 (55%) shots. O.J. took Second Place with a 13 of 42 (31%) score. Not bad at all for O.J. first time at shooting a field target airgun. Hope to see O.J. again for our next AA match.

2001 Southern Spring Nationals

Match Date - May 5 and 6, 2001

The North Mississippi Airgun Club (NMAC) is hosting the 2001 Southern Spring Nationals on May 5th and 6th. Wade Sutherland has secured property just South of Hernando on a 225-acre farm owned by Dr. Mike Foster. Wade states, “This place is BEAUTIFUL, to say the least, with very similar terrain to the old venue. Dr. Foster has 3 boys who are into paintball and has built a very large paintball facility on his property where literally hundreds come to play every weekend. Dr Foster has designated about 40 acres for our use and has given NMAC the go ahead to hold at least 2 MAJOR matches here this year.”

Since there will be no 2001 Baton Rogue Nationals this year, Wade comments, “We will begin club activities in about a month and will have the place ready for a full blown Southern Spring Shoot to fill the void left by one of the greatest venues on the planet - Baton Rouge!”
