Welcome to Airgunning Atlanta Airgunning Atlanta, proudly the results of the American Airgun Field Target Association (AAFTA) national match, 2001 U.S. Field Target National Championships. The event was hosted at the site of the 1996 Olympic shooting venue (now known as Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds, near Atlanta's international airport. Results
from the Welcome to Airgunning Atlanta, a Covington, Georgia based air rifle and pistol club. The club offers a tournament grade field target match course designed to prepare airgun shooters for championship matches. The club is jokingly referred to as "Air Arms Atlanta" due to the fact that many of the club members use Air Arms Pro-Target air rifles. We take great pride in introducing and assisting new airgun shooters to the sport of adult precision airgun field target competition.
The Airgunning Atlanta club has a Field Target (FT) match course nested in a beautiful wooded area east of metro Atlanta. The course consists of seventeen 55-yard FT shooting lanes and a practice paper target sight-in range which supports six to eight shooters. Two benchrest stations are also available at the sight-in range. Each shooting lane, on the tournament-grade course, has two to three field targets with strings attached for resetting the fallen target. AA matches are hosted on the second Saturday morning of the each month. Matches are usually designed around a 54 to 60 point match using 9 to 12 lanes.
